The build quality surprised me. It’s mostly aluminum with minimal plastic — feels premium, not creaky. The matte black finish resists fingerprints well.
If your laptop has a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode (most modern MacBooks, Dell XPS, Surface, etc.), one USB-C cable carries both video and power. No separate power brick needed.
This is where the SP90M shines.
For a portable 4K monitor, the SP90M hits all the right notes: sharp display, lightweight, easy connectivity, and good build quality. The only real compromises are the 60 Hz refresh rate and mediocre speakers — both expected in this category.
