Dtv Gov -
The government's efforts to facilitate the DTV transition were largely successful. According to the NTIA, by June 12, 2009, more than 97% of households in the United States had converted to digital television, either through the purchase of a new digital TV or the use of a converter box. The transition also resulted in the recovery of a significant portion of the broadcast spectrum, which was subsequently auctioned off to wireless carriers and other companies for use in mobile broadband services.
