Ron, relax. It’s just cheese and crackers.
Steve Guttenberg’s Birthday Original Air Date: May 21, 2010 Catering Event: A self-help/motivational seminar called "Satrip" (a clear parody of EST/Landmark Forum) party down s02e06 satrip
(Arriving, tying her apron) The play started late. The playwright is arguing with the lead actor about the "motivation" of his death scene. It’s a mess. Ron, relax
The Party Down crew is hired to work a weekend-long "transformational seminar" led by a guru named Zarien (played with smarmy perfection by Bob Odenkirk). The event, known as "Satrip," promises to break down attendees’ emotional walls and rebuild them into more successful people—at the low, low cost of $800 a head. As usual, the caterers find themselves trapped in a space where the self-help jargon is thick enough to choke on, and the guests are desperate to have a breakthrough (or at least look like they’re having one). The playwright is arguing with the lead actor
"Satrip" is another strong episode of Party Down, with plenty of witty banter, physical comedy, and cringe-worthy moments. The cast continues to shine, and the episode's central plot provides a great framework for their comedic talents. If you're a fan of the show, this episode is definitely worth checking out.
Us, Henry. We are. It’s a gala.
