In 2007, after years of preparation, the Seventh-day Adventist Church released the Himnario Adventista: Edición 2009 (though the process began earlier). This new hymnal contained over 600 hymns, including contemporary praise songs, gospel choruses, and more diverse musical styles (Latin rhythms, African-American spirituals, and classical anthems). Many old hymns were revised for inclusive language or smoother Spanish syntax.
