You can change the default save location for your screenshots by creating a new folder, then right-clicking the folder, selecting "Properties", going to the "Location" tab, and clicking "Move...". Alternatively, you can also specify a different folder when you save your screenshot.
Press Windows Key + V to see your clipboard history. If the image is there but not in a folder, you might only be copying the image, not saving it.
