PitStop Pro is expensive. It is arguably one of the most expensive plugins on the market. For a freelancer who only occasionally sends files to print, the ROI might be hard to justify compared to fixing files natively or using cheaper online preflight tools.
PitStop is a plugin, not a standalone app. If Adobe Acrobat crashes (which it often does), PitStop goes down with it. Furthermore, Adobe frequently updates Acrobat, which can sometimes temporarily break plugin functionality until Enfocus releases a patch. (The 2025 version is currently very stable, but this is a historical annoyance).
