: Mac's file manager does not have a native refresh shortcut. To refresh a folder, you can click the Back arrow and then the Forward arrow. To refresh the entire desktop, you must relaunch Finder by holding Option , right-clicking the Finder icon in the Dock, and selecting Relaunch .
