The familiar Sony Computer Entertainment logo appeared, but the audio was warped, dragging out the chime into a low, guttural growl. Then, the screen went black. No Bandai logo. No opening cinematic.

He pressed 'X'.

"Your BIOS signature is registered," the voice replied. The game engine groaned, the screen warping with textures that didn't belong. A figure walked out of the digital fog on screen. It wasn't Agumon. It was a model he recognized, but it was wrong—glitched, its polygons stretching into infinity.
