Talqin Jenazah š šÆ
Talqin Jenazah represents the profound bond between the living and the dead in Islam. It is an expression of love, care, and hopeāhoping that Allah will ease the transition of the deceased into the Barzakh (the intermediate state between death and Judgment Day). While the deceased can no longer hear the world in the way the living do, Muslims believe that by the will of Allah, this final instruction brings peace and stability to the believer in their grave.
In the Islamic tradition, the care for a believer does not end with the burial. Among the final acts of service performed by the living for the dead is the Talqin Jenazah . Talqin is an Arabic word meaning "to instruct," "to teach," or "to prompt." In the context of funeral rites, it refers to the practice of reminding the deceased of the fundamental tenets of faith while they are lying in their grave, shortly after burial.
