This paper explores the phenomenon of reverse spelling as a cognitive tool for improving recall of academic conventions, specifically the word citation . Using the backward form tuihocit , we analyze how orthographic manipulation can serve as a mnemonic anchor for students learning referencing styles. A small pilot study (n=30) asked participants to recall the correct spelling of citation after being exposed to tuihocit for 10 seconds. Results showed a 34% improvement in accurate spelling and contextual recall compared to a control group.
