For MAME, for disk-based games.
For standalone emulators (DuckStation, PCSX2, Beetle PSX): Extract CHD to CUE/BIN first, then use that. chd files for mame
If you have a disc-based game (like a Sega Naomi game) as a .iso or .bin/.cue file, MAME might accept it as is, but it is highly recommended to convert it to CHD for better performance and smaller file sizes.
MAME cannot find the CHD. Fix:
