Windows 11 Screenshot Location Jun 2026

If you use the built-in (the modern successor to the Snip & Sketch tool) and have the "Automatically save screenshots" feature enabled, they go to a different spot.

If you take a lot of screenshots, you might not want them cluttering your main Pictures folder or taking up space on your primary C: drive. You can redirect them easily.

You do not need to dig through File Explorer manually to find these folders. Here are the two fastest ways to access them:

Some third-party screenshot tools or gaming overlays (like NVIDIA GeForce Experience or Discord) save to their own custom folders. Check the settings of those specific applications. : Saves captures to This PC > Videos > Captures

If you want your screenshots to land in a different folder, follow these steps provided by Microsoft Support and other tech experts like XDA Developers :
