Yanagida's artistic style is characterized by an intriguing blend of traditional and modern elements. Her works often feature abstracted, biomorphic forms that seem to defy gravity and challenge the viewer's perception of space. One of the most distinctive aspects of her art is the use of materials and techniques that are often associated with science and technology, such as 3D printing, nanotechnology, and bioengineering. By merging these seemingly disparate elements, Yanagida creates works that are both visually stunning and intellectually stimulating.

In 2021, critic Takashi Murakami (no relation to the artist) accused Yanagida of "Trauma Tourism." He wrote: "Yanagida-chan draws a cute bunny, makes it bleed, and calls it philosophy. This is not deep. This is the aestheticization of mental illness for gallery patrons who drink champagne while watching a woman cry in a box."
