We consider the problem of finding the submatrix with the largest sum in a given R × C integer grid. A naive O(R³C³) solution is infeasible for large grids. We present an O(R²C) algorithm combining row compression and Kadane’s algorithm, analyze its correctness, and discuss implementation details.
