There are three primary states for the Share Link: webflow share link

To generate a link, follow these steps within the Webflow Designer : Click the button in the top toolbar. Toggle Share read-only link to "On". in the top-right corner of the toolbar

| Risk | Description | Mitigation | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | A client forwards the link to a third party, inadvertently exposing the unfinished design. | Enable Password Protection for all client-facing drafts. | | Intellectual Property Theft | If cloning is enabled, competitors can steal custom animations or layout structures. | Disable "Allow cloning" in Project Settings. | | Sensitive Data Exposure | If a designer uses "dummy text" that contains real client data (e.g., names, addresses) in the static design, it is visible in the Share Link. | Never use real sensitive data in static text elements; use CMS fields or lorem ipsum. | | Webflow "Staging" Domains | Note that Webflow automatically generates a staging subdomain ( your-site.webflow.io ). This is separate from the Share Link.
