(Evening)
She felt the urge to pull Peter’s hair. She felt the urge to check on the pirate ship. She felt impatient.
She opened her eyes. She wasn't glowing white anymore. Her skin had turned a pale, translucent milky-blue. Her dress, usually a harsh green leaf, rippled and changed, becoming a flowing sheath of silver-grey silk that shimmered with colors she couldn't name—not quite blue, not quite white, but shifting like the inside of an abalone shell.
She buzzed her wings, a sharp, angry sound to wake herself up, and zipped back toward the underground home, leaving a trail of silver dust in her wake, which promptly vanished in the morning dew.
She fluttered up from the desk, her wings humming a low, sad note, and drifted toward the open window. The moonlight pooled on the sill like spilled milk. Tink hesitated. Fairies are usually creatures of the sun and stardust, not the heavy pull of the moon. But the moon looked cool and promising.
Moonstone Tinkerbell is not an official Disney character. Instead, she is a popular fan-made variant or custom art concept blending the fairy Tinker Bell with the aesthetic of a moonstone gem. Key traits include:
From that day on, Luna's Moonstone Wand was cherished throughout Pixie Hollow. The fairies used it to guide them through the darkest nights, and to illuminate their paths when the moon was hidden behind clouds. And Luna, the Moonstone Tinkerbell, was hailed as a master tinker, her creations bringing joy and wonder to all who saw them.
Tink landed on the windowsill. She reached out a tiny hand and touched the beam of light.
As Tink stepped fully into the beam, she closed her eyes. She didn't fly; she let herself sink. She imagined herself not as a fairy, but as a stone sinking into a river.
